Chlorophyll is the pigment found in plants that gives plants the nutrients and dark green color. Supplements are often the most common form of chlorophyll intake. Because it doesn't do well in the digestive tract, it often doesn't survive long enough for absorption.

According to Health Line, "researchers have looked into the effect of chlorophyll and chlorophyllin on cancer. One animal study found that chlorophyll reduced the incidence of liver tumors by 29 to 64 percent and stomach tumors by 24 to 45 percent".
